Vijay’s Puli First Look Poster on Vijay Birthday June 22nd

If sources are to be believed, the official first look poster of Vijay’s Puli will be unveiled on Vijay’s birthday on June 22nd to surprise fans.

The team earlier planned to release the poster on April 14th for Tamil New Year but had to postpone the plans since the team was working hard to complete the film in Andhra Pradesh.

Trade sources suggest that Puli will be released on August 15th for Independence Day.

The team recently completed filming the intro number of Vijay in Talakona in a village set. It is choreographed by Sridhar Master. 

Nalan’s next film will be with Vijay Sethupathi

Nalan Kumarasamy made a promising debut in Soodhu Kavvum which was hailed as the new-age dark humor film in Tamil cinema upon release. Nalan went in hibernation mode for a long time. Now, the news has been made official that Nalan’s next film will be with Vijay Sethupathi.

The film will be jointly produced by CV Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment and KE Gnanavelraja’s Studio Green who will also distribute the film.

Santhosh Narayanan and Dinesh Krishnan, who worked with Nalan in Soodhu Kavvum, have been retained for this film. CV Kumar’s regular associate Leo John Paul will do the editing work.

Purampokku will be releasing on May 15th

Purampokku Engira Podhuvudammai, the film directed by SP Jananathan of Iyarkkai and Peranmai fame will be releasing on May 15th .

The film has a promising star cast including Arya as Baalusamy, Vijay Sethupathi as Yamalingam, Shaam as Michael and Karthika as Kuyili.The film is about death sentence and it’s ill effects in an entertaining commercial format.

Arya will be seen as an educated man who gets arrested by Shaam and Vijay Sethupathi is a Railway porter.

The audio of PEP was launched on the Tamil New Year day and the film has also been censored, only the exact certification is unknown.

Romeo Juliet will release on May 15th

The romantic comedy Romeo Juliet helmed by debutant director Lakshman is planned as a May 15th release. Since May 1st is occupied by Kamal Haasan’s Uttama Villain, SP Jananathan’s Purampokku and Aishwarya Dhanush’s Vai Raja Vai, the other set of films are planning to release their projects on May 15th.

Romeo Juliet has Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani as leads. Poonam Bajwa plays an important role. Imman has composed music for the film.

Sources say popular distributor Siva has already acquired the distribution rights for the film in Coimbatore for a decent price.

Amy Jackson is playing a crucial role in Vijay’s 59th film

Talking to the daily, Amy Jackson has confirmed that she is indeed playing a crucial role in Vijay’s 59th film with director Atlee and she is already dying to act with Vijay.

In 2015’s beginning,  Amy Jackson gave her second blockbuster hit through Vikram and Shankar’s I.

Presently, the Britain beauty is acting in Dhanush’s film with the VIP team.On Dhanush’s film, Amy says she is a playing a performance oriented role and Dhanush is helping her big time to emote and give better performance.

Trivia is that in both Vijay 59 and Dhanush’s next film, there are two heroine and they are Amy Jackson and Samantha.

The film’s co-producer B Sakthivelan updated that the officials haven’t asked them to cut or mute any scenes in the film so Suriya, who is producing the film under 2D entertainments is extremely happy over the overwhelming appreciation he got for his debut production.

36 Vayadhinile is the remake of Malayalam film How Old Are You which had Dileep’s Ex-wife Manju Warrier in the lead role and Roshan Andrew, the director of the original movie has directed 36 Vaydhinile too.

36 Vayadhinile might release on May 15 and the producers will formally announce the date soon.

Puli Song shot worth 5 Crores massive Set

Puli is progressing as one of the most expensive films in Vijay's career and the production cost of the  film alone has already exceeded 30 crs with the remuneration of stars and remaining production cost, the film's budget is likely to end up above 70 crs.

Recently the team was at Thalakonam of Andhra Pradesh to shoot the introductory song of Vijay and Devi Sri Prasad had composed the peppy intro number with so much of energy.

The song was shot in a massive set worth 5 crores and it was constructed by art director Muthuraj with the help of 200 carpenters. The song was shot with 100 dancers aroundthe country and it will be one if the opening songs in Vijay's career.

Ultimately we can't help but the fact is that producers spent 5 crs for the five minute intro song of Vijay , great!

Jyothika said she liked Nayanthara & Amala Paul

Jyothika is making her comeback in Tamil film industry with 36 Vayathinile which is a remake of Malayalam blockbuster How Old Are You which had Manju Warrier in lead role.

Usually Jyothika is not a media friendly heroine as she rarely gives interviews to television or newspapers. But for her comeback film the actress has given an interview in which she said that Tamil film directors are not making women-centric films unlike the Telugu and Malayalam films.

On her present favorite actresses, Jo said she liked Nayanthara's performance in Raja Rani and feel that Nayan could single handedly carry a film on her shoulders. The actress also likes Amala Paul's performanced in various movies.

Speaking to the media the actress said “Reports saying I’m in love with an industrialist and I would ask the writers to give me the phone number and name of the industrialist whom I’m in love with. Thank god, at least they didn’t write that I’m in love with an actor because I won’t marry actors or anyone who are in the film industry”.

Suriya 24 Movie Shooting starts in Mumbai today

Suriya kick started shooting of his next film in Mumbai today [April 9]. Titled as 24, Vikram K Kumar will be directing this Suriya starrer.

Suriya will once again romance his Anjaan actress Samantha in this sci-fi film. Film 24 team is expected to shoot for one month schedule in the city before heading to other locations.

24 will be Suriya's third production film under his 2D Entertainments banner, after Jyothika's 36 Vayadhinile and Pandiraj directing Haiku. Double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman is in charge of music for "24".

Jyotika says Friends, family pushed for a Comeback

Making a comeback after eight years to Tamil filmdom with upcoming drama "36 Vayadhinile", actress Jyotika says it was at the behest of her best friends and her actor-husband Suriya, she decided to don the greasepaint again.

"I was confused when I got the offer to act again. When I consulted with my best friends Sarah, Anu and Lakshmi, they said I should do it because I deserve a break. They were my driving force behind my decision to act again," Jyotika told.

Jo, as she's popularly referred to by her fans, said she couldn't have done it without their support.

"From time to time, they'd encourage me via calls and text messages. I should also thank my help Devi, with whom I entrusted my children and stepped out to act without having to worry. I couldn't have done it without their support," she said.

Jo feels extremely lucky to have been married to Suriya. The couple has two children.

"My in-laws never questioned my decision to act again. They could've asked me, but they didn't. My father-in-law would drop the kids at school and my mum-in-law would pack their lunches and look after them at home. I could concentrate on sets because they were looking after my children," she said.

Talking about Suriya, she said: "He was the first person I met when I came to Chennai many years ago. Since then he's been my pillar of strength. I'm so happy to have married him.

Directed by Roshan Andrews, the film is the official remake of Malayalam hit 'How Old Are You'. It's about who decides the expiry date of women's dreams.

"36 Vayadhinile" is produced by Suriya's home banner, 2D Entertainment, named after his children Diya and Dev.

Jo said she couldn't have asked for a better comeback.

"This is easily my career's best film. We complain that Tamil cinema rarely produces women-centric films. I think all that is going to change with my film. It's amazing on Roshan's part to debut in a new industry with a woman-centric film," she said.

Recalling the shooting experience, she says that there was lot of women empowerment even on the sets of the movie.

"Most of the technicians were accompanied by their wives on the sets. Our cinematographer Diwakar's wife assisted him. While shooting, they'd argue about light and other small things. Off the sets, you find them eating hot bhajiya in rain. They make a wonderful couple," she said.

The makers of the film, 2D Entertainment have teamed up with Sakthi Masala to plan and help ten women realize their dreams.

"36 Vayadhinile" is gearing up for release in May. The film also features Rahman, Abhirami, Delhi Ganesh and Siddhartha Basu in important roles.

Anjali in and Colors Swathi Out

PVP Prasad was initially supposed to produce ‘Geetanjali’ and the original title for the movie was ‘Tripura’. But after PVP backed out due to unknown reasons and another producer took over, the name was changed from ‘Tripura’ to ‘Geetanjali’. 

The movie went on to be successful at the box-office and the producers later announced another project in the same combo of Anjali and Srinivas Reddy. This time, the title was confirmed as ‘Tripura’. 

However, for the muhurtam shot, Anjali was nowhere to be seen and it was Colors Swathi who was introduced as the heroine of Tripura. 

Looks like the bonhomie between Kona Venkat and Anjali is well and truly over.
